| Ian Newton's Corsair F4U project |
This is supposed to be an ARTF model but other than the fact the covering has all been done there is a lot of assembly required! No prizes for identifying that this is a Vought Corsair F4U to be electric powered using an AXI 4130/16 with a 15*10 prop. Batteries 6s, 4200mAh LiPo. The model was supplied by Electric Flight Cumbria, the proprietor of which (Scott) was extremely helpful and gave me all the advice I required. Unfortunately the first model supplied suffered some damage in transit but was replaced without quibble. The model seems very well constructed and is supplied complete with 90 degree rotating retractable undercarriage. The very high quality totally adjustable engine mount is also supplied. The power train to be fitted is supposed to provide 15mins plus flight time with all the power likely to be required - sounds good to me

| All parts arrived well packed | All covering and decals are already completed | Wings come with the retracts already installed | This is a really high quality fully adjustable engine mount which makes fitting and getting the motor positioning a doddle |
| The pilot and a spinner nut were supplied by Scott for free as an apology because the model wasn't in stock and was a week late being delivered. Now that is service | |||
| Since purchasing the model from Electric Flight Cumbria the company has been taken over. However, the same model is now available from the new owners - BRC hobbies | |||
And the completed model - all I have to do now is pluck up the courage to fly it! |
